Catch a Thief UK Features On The New Channel 5 Documentary Series Shoplifters And Scammers: At War With The Law
A brand new documentary series, Shoplifters And Scammers: At War With The Law, charting methods used to thwart criminals targeting shops, beginning with a private security team employed to catch shoplifters in London's West End.
Throughout the series the documentary will also feature Catch a Thief UK and founder Farrah McNutt, who will be highlighting the important work we do, deterring and identifying suspects that are wanted in connection with violence, abuse and theft in our valued members retail outlets.
The 15 episode observational documentary series was produced by the award winning television production company, Crackit productions.
Episode 1 season1 was first aired on Channel 5, Monday the 18 October 2021 at 11:15am. All full episodes will be available on My5 now for streaming, here.

In the UK an average of 455 retail staff are assaulted or subjected to abuse every single day whilst 200 incidents of theft are reported and recorded every hour.
Retail crime is costing retailers increasing amounts of money every year, amounting to a total of £2.2 billion in the UK alone.
This amount includes money directly lost through crime along with what retailers are spending on loss prevention in the last year, much of this cost is recovered by increasing the price of the goods we buy.

Episode 2 Season 1 Teaser:
A suspect shoplifter steals a large quantity of goods from Spar in Stafford, west Midlands.
The theft totalled £75 plus £25 for the basket, the lone male suspect filled his basket with the goods whilst using his mobial phone before staff at the store pursued the suspect after he left the store with the basket, once the suspect was confronted by the store manager he became aggressive insisting that the store manager stayed away from him whilst waving a bottle of wine in the air, he then picked up a can of Febreze and threw it at the manager before disappearing into the distance.
The store then contacted Catch a Thief UK to help with the enquiry by signing up to become a member and making a Public appeal via our website.
