CCTV released after man threatened employee during shoplifting incident in Bristol

CCTV footage has been released by Avon and Somerset Police in their efforts to identify a man involved in a shoplifting incident in Bristol, where a store employee was threatened.

The incident occurred at Tesco Express, Gloucester Road, Bishopston, around 10:10 am on Wednesday, 28th February. A staff member confronted a man who was seen filling a rucksack with items. The man then menaced the employee with a knife and what appeared to be a knuckle-duster. He fled the scene after a panic alarm was activated.

Although the store employee was unharmed, the experience was undoubtedly frightening. We are pursuing all leads to apprehend the individual responsible, and the incident has been reported to the Neighbourhood Policing team for increased patrols in the area.”

Anyone who recognises the man or has relevant information is urged to contact Avon and Somerset Police. They can call 101 and provide the reference number 5224051963 to the call handler or submit information via the Avon and Somerset Police online appeals form.
